Ivan is a swiss painter and sculptor. He was born and raised in Solothurn (Switzerland). In 2023 he completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the Zurich University of the Arts. Additionally he was chosen as one of the scholarshipholder at Grand Central Atelier in New York, where he studied 9 months in 2023/2024.

In his works, Ivan sees the picture surface as a kind of fictional space in which the objects and figures define the pictorial space and the transparent layers of paint generate several levels and thus a landscape-like depth or mood.

 

Ivan realized various portrait commissions and thus, as well as through his stay at the Grand Central Atelier New York, was able to learn a skill and technique that he sees as the basis of his work.
